The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, bid farewell this Thursday, 4 July, to the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who will be taking part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in a ceremony that took place at the Presidential Palace and whose highlight was the handing over of the flag to the delegation that will represent Angola on the world's biggest sporting stage.
The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, said goodbye to the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who will be taking part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The ceremony was witnessed by the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, and various state personalities, sports leaders, members of the National Olympic Committee, members of Federations and Sports Associations, as well as the Olympic and Paralympic athletes who will be competing in the Games. The Angolan delegation to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be represented by handball, sailing, rowing, canoeing and judo as African champions. In the Paralympic Games, the country will be represented by athletics. The ceremony was a space for socialising, where the President of the Republic interacted at length with the athletes from the different sports and their respective leaders.
